After the oysters were mapped in the creeks, they were mapped in ten Sarasota County Bays: Sarasota Bay (Sarasota County area); Little Sarasota Bay; Roberts Bay North; Little Sarasota Bay; Dryman Bay; Blackburn Bay; Lyons Bay; Dona Bay; Roberts Bay; and Lemon Bay. A more streamlined method of data collection was enabled through the acquisition of a tablet computer. Staff was able to record the data directly into ARCGIS; thus, eliminating the double effort of first recording the data onto laminated aerial maps. Two additional metrics, piling oysters and oyster condition, were also added.
