Description
Celery fields Regional Stormwater Facility is a birding hotspot and constructed wetland/stormwater project by Sarasota County. The site mitigates flooding for about 3,500 acres and treats stormwater for excess nutrients and sediments. It is comprised of four compartmentalized cells with inflow and outflow to Phillippi Creek. Construction for the Phase 1 and 2 concluded in 1997 and Phase 3 was done by 2011.
