Sarasota County enlisted the help of Ringling College of Art and Design photography students in order to create an extensive photography catalog of Sarasota's water bodies. Their photos provide a historical record as well as a free catalog of photographs for both staff and the community. Thanks to this internship there are now hundreds of photographs that accurately and artistically capture the beauty of Sarasota's waterways. Sarasota County's waterways are the life blood of our region. They flow into, around and through our community. The rivers, bays, streams and estuaries have been here for thousands of years helping to shape the landscape, nurturing sea life and offering a unique beauty that changes at the whim of mother nature.
