New Watersheds Calendar uses Children's Artwork
Hundreds of local elementary school children created the artwork for a new 2005 Watershed Calendar for Sarasota County. The art illustrates many aspects of waterways, including how to prevent water pollution, conserve water, and improve natural habitats. The winning artists, from grades 1 to 5, were from Wilkinson, Gulf Gate, Glenallen, Garden, Bay Haven, Pine View and Oak Park elementary schools.
The calendar will be printed in mid December and be made available for free to Sarasota County residents in the lobby of the County Administration Building at 1660 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota and in the lobby of the Anderson Building at 4000 Tamiami Trail South in Venice.
In December 2005 the winning artwork can be seen right here on the Sarasota Water Atlas.
