Sarasota County weighs waterfront options

SARASOTA COUNTY - There's no telling who will come out of the woodwork when $100 million is on the table. Since voters approved a property tax to buy parks in November 2005, Sarasota County has been offered old golf courses, a zoological garden, a trailer park and even a few old homes. But some of the most tantalizing properties are working waterfront parcels that were in such demand during the real estate boom. Since the real estate collapse, landowners have offered two marinas, two waterfront restaurants and a waterfront campground for public purchase.
