Keep Sarasota County Beautiful seeks volunteers for 2010 Great American Cleanup

Keep Sarasota County Beautiful is asking volunteers to join forces for the 2010 Great American Cleanup from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 17, at sites throughout Sarasota County. In case of rain, the cleanup will be held Saturday, April 24.

According to Sandra Washington, manager of Keep Sarasota County Beautiful, the Great American Cleanup is a fun and educational way to protect Sarasota's natural beauty. It is also the nation's largest annual community improvement program, with an estimated 3 million volunteers in more than 17,000 communities participating in 30,000 improvement activities and educational workshops to clean local parks, waterways, trails, sidewalks and streets.
