Floating Wheelchairs Debut at Sarasota County Beaches

Now people who use wheelchairs and other assistive devices can enjoy the water at some of Sarasota County's award winning beaches.

Sarasota County Parks and Recreation is offering free floating wheelchairs at Siesta Beach, Lido Beach, Lido Beach, Nokomis Beach, Venice Beach and Manasota Beach. No advanced registration is required to use the chairs.

The chairs are marketed by the same company that markets the Mobi-Mat, a flexible rubber runner that provides stability on loose and uneven surfaces, like beach sand.
