Punta Gorda residents invited to public meeting on climate change adaptation

The public is invited to attend a community meeting sponsored by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council to discuss the current status of the City of Punta Gorda’s Adaptation Plan.

The Plan, approved in 2009, identified key elements of climate change adaptation planning and outlined strategies specifically for the City of Punta Gorda. The Coastal Resilience Decision Support System (DSS) developed by TNC to support decision making in Charlotte Harbor is a web based tool that will help advance the strategies recommended in the plan. If you participated in the workshops in 2009 or are new to these issues please plan on attending and exploring this web based tool. Your feedback and guidance will help to create a tool that will benefit the City.

When:  Tuesday, February 19th, 2013, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Charlotte County Office of Emergency Management, 26571 Airport Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33982
