Sarasota Bay Estuary Program announces 2016 Bay Wise Kayak Tours
Bay Wise Kayak Tours return for 2016! American Canoe Association Instructor and naturalist Brad Tanner will lead educational kayak tours around several natural areas in and around Sarasota Bay. Registration is open for the following dates and locations:
-
Explore the mangrove tunnels at South Lido Beach on February 6, 2016 or February 20, 2016.
-
Float down Phillippi Creek on February 27, 2016.
-
Paddle Blind Pass on March 12, 2016 or March 19, 2016.
Click this link to visit the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program's website, where you can read more about the tours and register for upcoming dates.
Please note: Participants must bring or rent their own kayak and gear. If you have never kayaked before, we strongly suggest that you take a class or participate in a “demo day” with a local kayak rental company BEFORE your Bay Wise trip. Please visit the Bay Wise Kayak Tour page for a list of local kayak rental companies.
Bay Wise kayak tours are not recommended for novice kayakers. Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian in order to participate. Children under 10 years of age are discouraged from participating.
Participants who wish to sign up for more than one trip will be able to sign up for one trip and then be put on a waiting list for the other trips of interest. We hope to bring the Bay Wise Kayak Tours to as many people as possible. Please help support this effort by limiting your participation to two trips per season.
Registration is required; please use the link below to register.
