The Stormwater Environmental Utility Advisory Committee (SEUAC) plays an important role in advising the Stormwater Environmental Utility (SEU) on goals and objectives. Properly managing stormwater runoff is critically important to our community because it reduces flood risk and protects water quality. The SEU has made significant progress and has received awards for projects (like the Celery Fields) and other innovations. A major SEU project, the Dona Bay project, is under construction and will improve the health of Shakett Creek, Dona Bay and the receiving waters around Venice inlet.
More information about the SEU is available online at https://www.scgov.net/SEU/Pages/default.aspx.
Sarasota County residents who are interested in participating in this important advisory committee should apply before March 18th.
