Register now for Tidally United Summit, Aug. 9-11

The 2018 Tidally United Summit, hosted by the Florida Public Archaeology Network and the New College Public Archaeology Lab, will engage participants to consider solutions to the threats posed by rising sea levels and climate change to coastal heritage sites in Florida.

Events Overview:

Thursday, August 9
6:00pm: Dialogue - Heritage as Social Action: What We Gain from Heritage and What We Might Lose from Rising Sea Levels – featuring Vicki Oldham & Uzi Baram
Location: New College of Florida, Sainer Pavilion, 5313 Bay Shore Rd, Sarasota, FL 34243
This event is free and open to the public. The dialogue presentation will be followed by a reception in the lobby of Sainer Pavilion.

Friday, August 10
8:30am-5:00pm: Tidally United Summit
Location: Payne Park, Payne Park Auditorium, 2100 Laurel St, Sarasota, FL 34237
Presentations and Panel Sessions to take place throughout the day. Coffee, snacks, and lunch provided. A Candidate’s Forum on Archaeology and Climate Change will begin at 4:00pm.

Saturday, August 11
9:00am-12:00pm: HMS Training and Field Demonstrations
Location: Historic Spanish Point, 337 N Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL 34229
HMS Training and field demonstrations to take place during the morning. Coffee and snacks provided. Please register to attend.

Registration fee is $40 and includes the Friday and Saturday events. Coffee, snacks, and Summit swag will be provided. Lunch on Friday is included with registration.
