Hatchett Creek drawbridge will be closed to marine traffic April 4-10
FDOT will be performing repair and rehabilitation to the KMI (Hatchett Creek) Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Venice.
Work will be taking place from 7 a.m. Monday, April 4 through 6 p.m. Sunday, April 10. Marine traffic should be aware that during this period, FDOT has been authorized by the U.S. Coast Guard to maintain the drawbridge in the closed (down) position so the repair work can be completed. Vehicular traffic will not be affected. The KMI Bridge is the northern access to the island of Venice via U.S. 41.
FDOT has contacted area marinas about the closure. The U.S. Coast Guard will announce the temporary restriction in a Local Notice to Mariners and via a Broadcast Notice to Mariners.
