NORTH PORT – The City Commission will hold a discussion and provide possible action on the public-private partnership (P3) pathway for Warm Mineral Springs at its regular meeting Tuesday, July 25.
Earlier this month, the commission provided general guidance and outlined support for continuing discussions with the developer and further defining the P3 proposal, as well as holding in-person community engagement sessions facilitated by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
After hearing input from the public at that workshop and conducting interviews with the individual commissioners, the foundation indicated that it advises against holding charrettes or community engagement sessions at this phase of the process.
Based on that recommendation, staff are asking the commission to provide direction on the P3 proposal. There will be future opportunities for community input if the P3 pathway is chosen or different direction is provided to staff.
